Design of crosslinked networks with hydroxyurethane linkages via bio‐based alkyl methacrylates and diamines

چکیده

A hybrid methodology is used to combine the favorable properties of non-isocyanate polyurethanes (NIPUs) in side chains with poly(methacrylates) as backbone into thermoset resins hydroxyurethane linkages (HNIPU)s. Using NIPUs avoids use toxic isocyanates poly(urethane) segments. The synthesized from cyclic carbonated copolymer templates derived atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) an alkyl methacrylate (C13MA average side-chain length 13)/glycidyl (GMA) mixtures (initial GMA mol fraction = 0.1–0.4). resulting flexible pendent epoxy functional groups were subsequently and then reacted 1,10-diaminodecane (90°C, 24 h) form rigid via linkages. Manipulating template functionality (2–11 urethane out 35 units) yielded crosslinked networks Young's moduli 0.1 71.9 MPa while decreasing tensile elongation at break 105% 10%. Swelling ratios (SR) tetrahydrofuran (THF) decrease linkage concentration increases, indicating tighter networks, consistent rheologically obtained molecular weight between crosslinks. Gel content indicated less than 15% are soluble THF. HNIPU show their ready tunability by simply changing precursor functionality.

Polymerization of Alkyl Acrylates and Alkyl Methacrylates with Starch

A series of C4-C 12 alkyl acrylates and methacrylates was polymerized with starch by irradiating starch-monomer mixtures with 60CO. Homopolymers were extracted with cyclohexane. The amounts of insoluble versus soluble synthetic polymer in polymerizations run with alkyl acrylates varied less with the chain length of the alkyl substituent than in the polymerizations run with alkyl methacrylates: ...

Effect of alkyl group substituents on the degradation of poly ( alkyl methacrylates ) in supercritical fluids

The effect of alkyl group substituents on the degradation kinetics of poly(alkyl methacrylates) namely poly (n-butyl methacrylate) (PBMA), poly (iso-propyl methacrylate) (PPMA), poly (ethyl methacrylate) (PEMA), and poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) in supercritical and subcritical conditions was studied at various temperatures (250 – 375 o C). The molecular weight distributions were measured b...

a comparison of teachers and supervisors, with respect to teacher efficacy and reflection

supervisors play an undeniable role in training teachers, before starting their professional experience by preparing them, at the initial years of their teaching by checking their work within the proper framework, and later on during their teaching by assessing their progress. but surprisingly, exploring their attributes, professional demands, and qualifications has remained a neglected theme i...

Improving dandruff shampoo via biobased propanediol

The potential for boosting zinc pyrithione (ZPT) efficacy by using Zemea biobased propanediol in a generic dandruff shampoo formulation was evaluated in this study. A time-dependent, doseresponse relationship was observed between the mortality of Malassezia globosa, a microorganism associated with human dandruff, and Zemea concentration over a range of 0% to 4%. Formulation used in test solutio...
